ParadeSmart clients that have a website as part of their package will need to set up their domain correctly for the website to go live. Please follow the steps below carefully. If you need assistance, contact our support team.

DNS Configuration Instructions #
DNS settings point your domain to our servers, or in other words, connect your domain name to the website we have made for you.
Overview #
To connect your domain to our servers, you will need to update two DNS records in your domain registrar’s control panel. This document walks you through the process step by step. The changes typically take between 15 minutes and 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
DNS Records to Add #
Add the following records exactly as shown in your registrar’s DNS management area:
| Type | Host / Name | Value / Points To | TTL |
| A | @ (or leave blank) | 104.236.213.202 | 1 hour (3600) |
| CNAME | app | [your-domain.com] | 1 hour (3600) |
Note: Replace [your-domain.com] in the CNAME row with the target hostname provided by our team. The TTL (Time to Live) can be set to your registrar’s default if “1 hour” is not available as an option.
Step-by-Step Instructions #
The steps below apply to most domain registrars, including GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace Domains, Cloudflare, and others. The exact wording of menu items may differ slightly depending on your provider.
Step 1: Log In to Your Registrar (example: GoDaddy) #
1. Go to your domain registrar’s website and sign in to your account.
2. Navigate to your list of registered domains and select the domain you want to configure.
Step 2: Open DNS Management #
3. Look for a section labeled DNS, DNS Management, DNS Settings, Manage DNS, or Advanced DNS. This is usually found under your domain’s settings.
4. If prompted to choose between “Default Nameservers” and “Custom Nameservers,” select Default Nameservers to manage DNS records directly through your registrar.
Step 3: Add the A Record (Root Domain) #
5. Click Add Record or Add New DNS Record.
6. Set the Type to A.
7. In the Host / Name field, enter @ or leave it blank (this represents your root domain, e.g., yourdomain.com).
8. In the Value / Points To / IP Address field, enter: 104.236.213.202
9. Set TTL to 1 Hour (3600 seconds), or use the default if not available.
10. Save the record.
Step 4: Add the CNAME Record (Subdomain) #
11. Click Add Record or Add New DNS Record again.
12. Set the Type to CNAME.
13. In the Host / Name field, enter app (this creates the subdomain app.yourdomain.com).
14. In the Value / Points To field, enter the target hostname provided by our team (shown in the table above).
15. Set TTL to 1 Hour (3600 seconds), or use the default if not available.
16. Save the record.
Step 5: Remove or Update Conflicting Records #
Before saving, check whether any existing A or CNAME records conflict with the ones you just added:
• If there is an existing A record for @ pointing to a different IP address, delete it or update it with the new IP.
• If there is an existing CNAME for app, delete or update it.
• Do not remove MX records or other records unrelated to your website, as these may affect your email.
Step 6: Save and Wait for Propagation #
17. Confirm and save all changes in your registrar’s control panel.
18. DNS changes typically take 15 minutes to 2 hours to take effect, though full global propagation can take up to 48 hours.
19. You can check the status of propagation at any time using a free tool such as:
Troubleshooting #
If your domain is not resolving correctly after 48 hours, check the following:
• Confirm the A record IP address is exactly 104.236.213.202 with no extra spaces.
• Confirm the A record Host is set to @ or blank, not www or your full domain name.
• Confirm the CNAME Host is set to app only, not app.yourdomain.com.
• Ensure no conflicting records exist for the same host names.
• If you recently migrated your domain or changed nameservers, wait a full 48 hours before troubleshooting further.
